    • Hi Melyssa, unfortunately the prices are adjusting every hour on Amazon so it’s not possible to display the live prices with 100% accuracy. We are constantly checking to find the best deals, apologies that you have to click through to check the price.

    • Hi Garnette, a lot of sellers make false claims about their boards online. As you can see the 6.5inch boards are often the same hourglass shape – all these boards have virtually the same hardware inside (except for the battery, which doesn’t affect top speed anyway) so it’s highly unlikely that it can reach 15mph.

    • Hi Giselle, most manufacturers state an upper weight limit of 100kg but we’ve seen people much heavier than this riding boards, and even two people at once travelling on one. The bigger 10 inch boards are better suited to heavier drivers in general though.

  1. I recently purchased a Bluetooth scooter from Alibaba for my son and was incredibly annoyed when it broke after two days of use. No use trying to contact customer service at Alibaba either, haven’t been able to speak to a human about it yet!

    • Hi Sander, yes we’ve heard a few stories about customers receiving poor quality boards from Alibaba. It’s best to use Amazon when purchasing a self balancing scooter as they have a wide range of sellers and you can read reviews from confirmed purchasers.

    • Hi Anastazy, the 10 inch board might be a little big if your son is very young. There’s another option though – Lookatool offer a 4.5inch board designed for kids that has a lower top speed and is safer to use.

    • Hi Deon, generally these boards require charging after 10 – 20 miles, depending on how fast you travel. Charging takes around 90 minutes from empty to full battery.

  2. Are the prices that are linked, the black Friday prices? Or do we need to wait until black Friday to get the updated prices? Or the electronic black Friday maybe?

    • The linked prices are the Black Friday deals. For some deals the prices change very frequently so it’s not possible for us to list the live prices.

  3. Really informative with so many company’s making claims! My 13 year old asked specifically for iohawk for Christmas, oh Mom they’re about $350-400 could not believe prices $1700 and up! I did do some research saw several with weight limits of 220 lbs he’s 5’10 & 190 lbs. My top budget is $400, he will Ride mostly outdoors street’s, my biggest concern is arriving before Christmas and a warranty most definitely! Lights preferably, Bluetooth either or…After hearing of batteries that catch fire…? Samsung & LG is a must. Any advice will be great, thank so much! #overwhelmedmom

    • Hi there, the weight limits are stated as 220 lbs for regular boards and 265 lbs for large boards. However, we’ve heard reports of people far heavier than this being fine riding around on boards. If your son will mainly be riding outside a 10 inch board is advisable since they deal with roads and bumps alot better than 6.5 inch boards. For a budget of $400 I’d recommend the Xnow 10 inch Hoverboard on Amazon. It is available for Prime delivery and you can purchase a warranty for the board in a bundle on the site for a price that falls within your budget. The Xnow board doesn’t have Bluetooth but comes with lights and a high quality battery too.

  4. Thanks sooo much for these updates! 1) Are Bluetooth speakers really worth it? Can you even hear them outside? 2) Think deals might be better Monday???

    Reply
    • Not to worry, glad you found it useful. 1) The Bluetooth speakers are impressively loud, here’s a good video of them being tested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx9Y6wNmGHI As far as them being worth it, it depends on personal preference. They make the board a little heavier, and personally I would feel a little embarassed driving around with music coming from my board – but for kids they seem really popular. 2) Deals will most likely be very similar on Cyber Monday. One of the biggest issues with buying self balancing scooters is delivery times – as many boards ship from China. I’d recommend ordering ASAP as it’s still possible to guarantee pre Christmas delivery, leaving it much later than this will make Christmas delivery less certain.

  5. Im concerned with the reports that some of the cheaper boards have exploded. I am looking for one for my son so this is a real concern. Is there a recommended brand?

    Reply
    • Hi Mindy, since all hoverboards are being produced in Chinese factories at the moment and new suppliers are popping up every day it’s very difficult to track which boards have been exploding. To minimise risk choose a board with a Samsung or LG battery inside, and one which has plenty of good reviews on Amazon. In terms of recommended brand there isn’t one at the moment to be honest.

  6. So looking for one of these puppies now…great site, thanks for the list but I am having trouble finding one of these on Amazon. I was hoping to spend < $350 and would LOVE 10 inch, if not 8 inch wheels. Would prefer white but color doesn't matter as long as it can be shipped to Louisiana for Christmas…suggestions?

    • Hi Peter, thanks very much for the positive feedback on the site. Yes $350 seems to be around the lowest price that 10 inch boards are available for online. It’ not possible to get a 10 inch board in white, they only come in black, red camo or pop art design at the moment. I’d recommend the XNow or TerGing 10 inch boards for you, they are both selling for around the $360 mark at the time of writing with free shipping.

  7. Your website is fabulous and very helpful! I was going to purchase the 8 Bluetooth side LED2 Wheel self balancing Electric Scooter (since its in between the 6 and 10) – do you have any recommendations regarding the 8?

    Reply
    • Hi Nee Nee, thanks very much! Yes the 8 inch is a great middle ground between the 6.5 and 10 inch boards, with wheels big enough to handle rougher surfaces whilst not being too bulky. Sounds like a good choice to me

  8. why do all the boards say expect arrival after Christmas when using standard shipping but none will let you change/pay more for a different shipping option? it is three weeks, 21 days, until Christmas why can I not get it by then?

Will I be abke to determine who makes battety and can I replace battery if need to? I can’t find any info on these boards from this company and walmart cant help only know they sold out fast. Hope you can help

    • Hi there, I haven’t heard of unique bargains but that’s not to say they aren’t a quality board – if you’re concerned about the battery type you can unscrew the boards and check the battery brand. There’s a few good videos demonstrating how to take apart the board on Youtube if you search. As far as replacing batteries, that isn’t something I’ve tried doing but I’m sure there’s a few tutorials online. I’ll write a post soon about replacing board batteries!

  11. I am so very scared to give these to my kids. And unfortunately, I bought them before I knew about the fires. I bought the 8 inch wheels with bluetooth and samsung/LG batteries (so they say). They have more of a diamond foot pad, not square. Meaning the second generation. And both were from a US seller but who knows where thet got them from before that. People are telling me that I have nothing to worry about with those specifications. What do you think?

  12. I purchased an Elecforu 8 inch Bluetooth board for my 12 year old daughter. She’s a flyer in cheer and rides a regular and longboard skateboard all the time so I’m sure she will have decent balance. My concern is that your write-up says it has a generic battery. How concerned should I be that it’s not Samsung or LG? Is there a comparable option if I decide to return this one for one with a different battery? It shipped but hasn’t arrived yet.

  13. Hey swegway, I purchased the 8 inch bluetooth speakers with remote control from hoverboard360.com. Once I received the board, it said imotohk.com. The board isn’t even the same color it on the box, it doesn’t talk and one of the speakers don’t work. I contacted hoverboard360.com the very next day after I received the board. I filled out the paperwork they sent me so I could return the item, but they refuse to answer my calls or return emails. Its been alot of broken promises. On hoverboard360.com facebook page, people were complaining and upset that they either didn’t receive the board and that it was broken. Is there anyway you can help me out. I spent so much money on this thing and it doesn’t work properly. Since there were so many bad postings on hoverboard360.com facebook page, they started blocking people from putting up negative comments. THEY ARE STLL SCAMMING EVERYONE! PLEASE HELP ME.

    • Hi there Shalonda, sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience buying from this website. Unfortunately this site only provides information about boards purchased on Amazon so we’re unable to help you.

    • Hi Adrienne, Amazon recently removed a large number of boards from sale so it’s best to contact the supplier to find out. I don’t think the Xnow is currently still for sale on the site.
